Participating in the P2P: Challenging Extremism program, my group and I were challenged to think up a comprehensive marketing program with the main goal of combating voilent extremism in our local community. From this, Beneath the Surface was born. We chose a demographic and got to work promoting out positive message: be yourself, and encourage others to do the same. Our campaign focused on combating stereotypes in our community. Through opening a diologue about these issues, even in a collegiate setting, we are empowering people to think about how their actions influence others.
I served as the advertising department head and was responsible for the majority of the visual materials, as well as managing my department underneath me, while also collaborating with other department heads in the project on ideas and events.
